the last and final assigned blog, what can i say, its been a journey with this thing. Although I am very much an internet user, i have never before blogged, so for me it was a little uncomfortable, plus i would altogether forget about the blogs till it was late or just in time. but all and all its a new way of looking into things, and i think its a good new way of teaching, and supporting what we learned, to embrace things like this and it will have lasting effects.
In fact there might have been a few that have been inspired to keep their blogs up, or even expand them, to be of use for someone else.

A late vision
this one comes late, but for good, reason, i had chosen a path and was not certain and future was clouded. Now i have it more sorted out so to the best of my ability i will explain my vision.
My first vision to go to work on wall street, simple enough, graduate college become a trader.
My second vision is move mountains ( metaphorically speaking). Meaning I see not only success, because success is mediocre, but breakthrough, real change of the market, not just a dollar flowing with the tide but the tide itself.
And lastly to leave an impression on the wall street community, not just some kid who knows what he's doing, but a kid who can do what the greats can do.
Of course im not stupid, i understand this might take me an entire professional career, but i perfer to do it before my 35 th birthday, i belive it would be a serious accomplishment, that any one could be proud of.

Stand alone
You stand in room all alone, paper in hand
You think and think and think, what Went wrong?
Whats there to think about, the train set sail, the decision is made
Someone is in tears, and its all you fault
You didn't have to, she could have worked harder; you think to yourself
No my decision is final, and that's that

personality test
This post is a bit late, but its about the personality test we took in class, first and foremost i though it was bull***t, well because i was told that i was D high c, which by that test means i have a dominant personality, coupled with a conscious awareness . Which also stated that i can't make a decision with out looking at all the facts. to me it was ridiculous of how could the two coexist. Well after i got my exam back today it all became clear, it doesn't, by the personality test i try to look for everything to be known about the question, and spend too much time thinking about them. And the overwhelming pressure of my dominance, makes me pick a satisfies choice. I had a good hour or so of a train ride to think this through, and that is the best i can come up with. But I'm still undecided as of how i feel about the personality test now, but seems to have some truth to it.

the class discussion
What can i say about the class and the discussion making process. except for it was expected, the matter was important enough for people to think about, so and everyone has their own view on it, so no surprise that we almost lost anything positive the professor was giving us.
of course taken into account that the class grades were divided almost evenly, as the professor stated, that some people would not want a curve and others wouldn't want a dropped grade to put more pressure on the other exams. Personally I found it laughable how bad the class took this opportunity. I don't know how many people understood the full potential of this oppertunity. we could have potentially able to ease the test and enjoy the class that much more, for those of us who would like to learn something.
as far as how could it be better? well to start the people who came up to the board had no control of the class, which means they were to blame for the class not being able to make a decision. so my alternative would be to get a better leader, (no I am not being an arrogant asshole i do not mean myself).
second possibility allow the professor to narrow down the choices before, he intentionally didn't say anything in the beginning so we can bicker they way we did. Because have the possibility (not ability, but possibility) to have anything done to the current grade made poeple over think the situation.
and lastly the discussion was suppose to be strictly about the grade not fairness to the professor, how can something be unfair to the professor if it was his suggestion (and he is an intelligent man and i assume would not give us this opportunity to take advantage of him). that being said, i think that was the biggest waste throughout the decision making process. Lucky, and i do mean lucky we got something done, so i cannot complain, but had the class had a minute less, we would have wasted something truly unique.

The uber Invention
As you can guess by the title I was part of the group which made the "controversial" egg that did not break on contact. Also i was the one who came up with the title ( and yes i got a kick out of it when the professor said).
While we were in the planing process, we had at least a dozen ideas come in the first minute( thanks to the brilliant team of ours). And going through all the ideas, this string one came up several times. As it was a "controvesial" plan we were had to discuss it. I think we did a great jo of putting and planing on how we were going to accoomplish our goal. Another key factor was that we divided the work quickly and efficiently, given these factors we finished wiht time to spare, and even test. :)

first blog entry
Hi my name is Aleksandr Khudyakov, but Alex is good. My name is spelled that way because I came form Ukraine when I was 8 years old, and they translated my name letter by letter. Ive been living in New York for about 13 years now, and like most Baruch students I work, school, and I am in need of an internship. I work at a tennis club, as the shift manager, which is just a fancy tittle for I do the things the other manager doesn't get around to or forgets to do. Its a good place to work for now, since its not i have time to do homework during work, but I also picked up tennis as a result of working there. So if anyone is interested in a tennis match just let me know.
